The Let Down

I don't know if you ever feel this way about January, but I always feel like it is a little depressing after all the excitement of December. That is kind of how we are feeling now after all of our visitors left. Plus, we have been sick and our car has been giving us trouble. So it kind of feels like we are stuck in a low security prison.
This is Johnny. He is our new security guy. He goes to our church and is a really great guy. Talking to him is like talking to an old friend. We are really excited to have him here. And he of course loves the "golden ticket".

The kids keep themselves busy with all sorts of things they would not be able to do in the zstates. Like playing with real nails and hammering them with a play hammer into the dirt or tiles.

Or building homemade rope swings off the balcony. Some of the fun things they are doing remind me of when I was a kid visiting cousins in Idaho. It brings back some fun memories.

Then the rains came in and we finally got to put our boots to use.

CT enjoyed singing in the rain.

And dancing in the rain.

One of the best parts about Johnny is that he has also worked as a mechanic. He and a friend were able to fix our car in our driveway.
