More house pictures

Today our friends, the Reams, came to visit. It was great to speak English and have someone understand us. They have boys TJ and IS's ages and 2 girls they are adopting from here that are CT's age. The girls loved seeing an American Girl doll and the boys played on the scooters and in the yard. We visited the "private property" next door. It was like nothing I have seen in Haiti yet. They had a full huge park, little pony's you can ride, a full blown tennis court, soccer fields, and a little school. They were having a party complete with big blow up jumpy things. It was breathtaking by American standards.

Now our house. Here is the "great room" which will eventually become our home school room. Right now it is a luggage storage room. It has a great big TV with Direct TV. We are seriously roughing it.

The kitchen. It is descent size, but pretty rustic. I think there are as many garden tools as cooking tools in the drawers. But at least it has running water and a stove with an oven. Although I have got to figure out how to light the stove without burning my fingers each time! The 4 buckets in the sink and next to it are how you do dishes. With soap, bleach, and "dirty" water. It is a story for another post.
And the back. This is up the driveway. This is one of the few well paved roads we have seen so far. The kids are having a blast on their scooters. They are building some apartments to the right.
A little table in the back.
A look at the front. It has a huge yard with grass like they have in Florida. "Pokey" as the kids call it.
IS loves the trees here. There a lot of beautiful flowers and great landscaping.
A look at the front yard. This is the view just looking up the mountains.
